Samara / October 4, 2018

Chicago has a number of gorgeous green areas as well as dynamic urban ones that provide the ideal setting to take fashion photography. We’ve made a brief list of the best in each category.

Natural Attractions

Garfield Park Conservatory

You’d think a conservatory would be an odd place to take fashion photos, but it is an incredibly beautiful one to do so. It’s also a great occasion to breathe in some fresh air.

Millennium Park

The “bean” isn’t the only attraction in this lovely park, but it is one of the main ones. It would make a great backdrop for your shoot. The park is also the ideal location to view the city from street level.

Caldwell Woods

Caldwell Woods is not only an enticing photo shoot background, but a great place to enjoy the outdoors, do some exercise, or have a picnic.

Osaka Garden

This is a beautiful garden and a cornerstone for photographers in the Windy City. Each turn in this gorgeous landscape yields a photo-worthy panorama. Highlights are the curved walking ridge and the pagoda. It is truly an island of serendipity.

Urban Settings

Chicago Cultural Center

The area of CCC hosts film festivals and frequent photography and sculpture exhibitions. Why you might do fashion photography here is evident.

Cloud Gate by Anish Kapoor

Finally, Cloud Gate is one of the best places in Chicago to do fashion photography. If architecture is also among your interests, that’s even better. You can take some interesting photographs in the vicinity of the intricately designed buildings. Try to immortalize the contradiction between the bean and the old buildings.

All of these locations are any photographer’s dream. They offer lots of fun and amazing fashion photo opportunities regardless of the weather. Make sure you spend at least 45 minutes here to really explore the possibilities.
